$15,000 in Grants Awarded to Spanish Shelters
April 2022
Our following shelter partners were awarded $2,500 each: Casa de Postas, Mastines en la Calle, Galgos en Familia, Podencos y Mas, Argos, and Seimpre Contigo.The shelters will use this money to help offset costs for food, veterinary, and other necessary supplies for the dogs under their protection.Read more here.
$3,000 Grant Awarded to Shelter Ugolyok in Lviv Ukraine

Shelter Ugolyok in Lviv, Ukraine have under thir protection dogs, cats, horses, cows, and other animals. The Flying Dog Foundation awarded a $3,000 grant to the shelter in Apirl, bringing total grants awarded to the shelter in 2022 to $9,671.
Shelter staff are committed to staying in the country to care for the dogs, cats, horses, cows, and other animals under their protection. They can not evacuate due to the number of animals and size of the larger ones. Prices for food, veterinary, and other supplies have skyrocketed due to the danger and supply chain stressors. What's more, the shelter is still actively rescuing animals left behind in homes, the streets, and farms. Adoptions are also still happening
$6,000 Grant Awarded to MotorCity Greyhound Rescue
April 2022
This grant will help MCGR further offset expenses for a rescue transport of 15 greyhounds and whippets rescued from the meat trade into Canada. The dogs will be under the care of volunteer foster homes until they are adopted to loving homes.
$600 Grant Awarded to Podencos y Mas
April 2022
This grant will help Podencos y Mas, a shelter in Spain, complete construction of new kennels for the dogs under their protection.
Second Grant of $1,500 Awarded to Shelter Ugolyok, Lviv, Ukraine
March 2022
Through the generosity of our supporters, additional donations came in specifically directed to Shelter Ugolyok in Lviv, Ukraine. The shelter will use this money to offset the costs of critical necessities, including animal food, veterinary expenses, and other supplies.
$10,000 Grant Awarded to MotorCity Greyhound Rescue
March 2022
Later this month, MCGR will welcome 14 greyhounds and whippets rescued from the meat trade by Candy's Hound Rescue International. The rescue transport will fly into Canada. The dogs will be fostered in loving homes as they await adoption. This grant will help offset transport expenses.
$5,171 Grant Awarded to Shelter Ugolyok in Lviv,Ukraine

There are times when a crisis is so horrific that it screams for our attention. The war in Ukraine is one of those times. We made a special appeal to raise funding for a grant for a farm sanctuary in Ukraine. Under their protection are dogs, cats, horses, cows, goats, pigs, and other animals. Staff committed to staying to care for the animals, facing unimaginable danger. Prices have escalated as things become more precarious and supply chains further strained. This grant will help the shelter to buy food, medical, and other supplies needed for survival.

Additional Grant Awarded to Mastines en la Calle

In addition to a $1,000 grant awarded earlier this month to Mastines en la Calle, a shelter in Spain, The Flying Dog Foundation awarded $350 to help replace the shelter's roof.
$568 Grant Awarded to Casa de Postas
February 2022
The Flying Dog Foundation awarded a €500 (US$568) grant to Casa de Postas, a shelter in Spain. Earlier in the week, their rescue vehicle broke now and is impossible to fix. The grant will be put toward a desparately needed new vehicle.
$1,000 Grant Awarded to Mastines en la Calle
February 2022
Mastines en la Calle, a rescue and shelter in Spain, is in dire need of a new shelter roof estimated to cost €4000. The Flying Dog Foundation's grant, the equivalent of €885, will help to offset the cost. The Foundation has additional fundraising for the new roof underway.

MotorCity Greyhound Rescue is taking in 21 dogs rescued from the meat trade. The dogs were rescued by Candy's Hound Rescue International (formerly Candy Cane Rescue) and their Chinese rescue partners. There will be two separate transports landing in Canada; it's an amazing undertaking.

Through unyielding work in China and the USA, André will be arriving in WA, USA under the protection of National Borzoi Rescue - International.
