What's Happening:
Sunday, March 26, 2023, American George Kopishke of Running for Greyhounds will be raising money to help greyhounds, galgos, and other dogs in dire need by running the Rimini Half Marathon in Italy George will be making the trip to Italy with his fabulous wife, Terri. George and Terri donate their travel expenses, so 100% of your donation will go toward helping dogs in dire need.
About Running for Greyhounds
Established in 2013, Running for Greyhounds participates in running events to raise donations and awareness for greyhound and galgo welfare. George’s and Terri’s work has benefited several rescue organizations. Running for Greyhounds has run in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Atlantic City, Daytona Beach, Orlando, Atlanta, Savannah, New York City, Ottawa, and Montreal and other cities.
You Can Support George’s Run in Rimini
George is dedicating his Rimini run to The Flying Dog Foundation and Pet Levrieri, with 100% of money raised being split between both charities:
- The Flying Dog Foundation is a 501(c)(3) registered US charity and helps make profoundly positive, life-saving changes in the lives of dogs in dire situations by awarding grants to partner rescue organizations.
- Pet Levrieri is an Italian charity that advocates for and rescues greyhounds and galgos. They rescued greyhounds from the infamous Macau racetrack, from the meat trade, and other circumstances and abandoned galgos from Spain.
Donations in support of George’s Rimini run are made to The Flying Dog Foundation and are tax-deductible for US taxpayers. The Foundation will award a grant to Pet Levrieri funded with half the proceeds raised.
Rimini Half Marathon
The Rimini half marathon is 13.1 miles through beautiful and historic Rimini, Italy and down the coast of the Adriatic Sea and back to downtown Rimini, beginning and ending at the Arch of Augustus.
